Howl’s Moving Castle by: Diane Wynne Jones

I’d watched the movie many years before I read the book and I absolutely love both of them! I fell in love with the movie and then only recently decided to give the book a try. The book is obviously different than the movie, which is usually the case, but both are great in their own right.

The book included a lot more depth to each character and to the romance between Howl and Sophie. Although romance isn’t the main focus of the book, it was fun to see their teasing and inside jokes. She, this frail old woman, constantly cleaning up after him and he badgering her for it. You learned much more about her sisters, step mom and even the missing prince that wasn’t in the movie either.
