I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this book because the description was interesting but I couldn’t get a firm grasp of what it was actually going to be about! I finally decided to read it and was pleasantly surprised! It has quite a few funny parts throughout and the characters are very unique individuals. Dina is an “innkeeper”, which means she runs a magical bed and breakfast, Gertrude Hunt, for paranormal/supernatural beings. She herself has magic and is her most powerful on inn lands. She meets a werewolf, Sean, who eventually decides to team up with her to solve a mystery of something evil that has been hunting at night in their neighborhood.
This first book focuses on setting up the foundation for the subsequent books – you learn what an innkeeper is, what an inn is and more about all the supernaturals in the universe. Werewolves, vampires, aliens, etc. Watching Sean and Dina go around in circles for awhile is pretty fun and I liked that their romance wasn’t the main focus of the book. I liked it enough that I read all the rest of the series over the next week!
